Elians Extreme Reading 2017

The annual Elians La Nucia World Book Day Extreme Reading competition is upon us once again. Staff and students should submit to Linda Millar a photograph of themselves reading in an unusual situation.

My choice of book this year is Senderos Geologicos (Geological Walks) published by the Diputación de Alicante. It is a selection of walks in the province that take you through interesting geology in the region.

And here is my entry for the Extreme Reading competition 2017:

Mr Thomas buried in loamy clay from the Cretaceous period while trying to follow a recommended path in Senderos Geologicos in January 2017.

It is not a fake photo: I am actually in the mud.  The clean up operation afterwards involved a warm bucket of water prepared earlier.

Warning: Cretaceous loamy clay after rains can be hazardous.

About Gareth Thomas

A fairly mixed career starting as an aircraft technician and later Franciscan friar eventually led into secondary school teaching. I settled in Spain where I teach Geography part-time and spend the rest of my time looking after the needs of four donkeys in a remote location in the mountains in the Costa Blanca. I have three blogs: a geography blog and a donkey blog begun in 2015, plus an old donkey blog which ran from 2010 to 2015.
