The migration unit requires several case studies to be learned:
1. We have looked at the Mexico-USA migration case study (pages 30-31 in the New Wider World book) as an example of traditional voluntary economic migration.
2. As an example of the new patterns of economic migration, we looked at Polish migrants to the UK: also links on this site.
3. A study of internal migration in Brazil is provided on the AS Geography pages. It is material taken from GCSE sources, so it is the right level for you. Please look at this to increase your range of migration case studies.
We have also examined historical immigration into the UK and internal migration patterns in the UK, including counter-urbanisation, a theme which will also be examined in the unit on Settlement later.
