Local Geography

In the introduction to the Cambridge A-Level course, the importance of local studies is emphasised: “Local Fieldwork Knowledge of the student’s local area is an aid to understanding and appreciation of the natural and human environments studied at AS. It is preferable… for students to have had some experience in the field which can then be applied when answering questions.”

Some fieldwork is possible during the course but it is also very important to build up a range of links and resources for students to study local geographical phenomena and data, for both IGCSE and A-Level work. The aim of the blog pages in this section is to provide links relevant to the Costa Blanca and some wider links to Spanish geography materials. This drop down menu contains links to local maps, the development of Benidorm as a tourist resort and as a fast growing urban environment, local hydrology and geology, etc.
